Week of October 9-13, 2017

Mighty Falcons,

You survived your 1st six weeks of your middle school lives! The 2nd six weeks will consist of higher expectations, I expect nothing but your best efforts inside and outside our classroom! Remember we all learn as a family and we should not be afraid to make mistakes, mistakes are proof that we are learning. This week we will be comparing, locating, and ordering fractions, decimals, and percents on a number line. We will also represent percents with concrete models, ten by ten grids, and strip diagrams. Make sure you are extra attentive and ask for guidance if need be so that you do not fall behind.

Check out the following video to learn more about our math lesson.
Extra Credit: Create an interactive math game that involves the comparison of fractions, decimals, and percents. Ex: Gameboards, bingo, active games, etc. I prefer you to type out questions for neatness and organization. Include instructions. Be Creative and have fun! Due by Monday, October 16, 2017. NOTE: EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES WILL NOT BE OFFERED EVERY WEEK SO TAKE ADVANTAGE WHEN POSSIBLE. EXTRA POINTS NEVER HURT ANYONE!

Reminders:
*First payment for 6th grade end-of-year field trip due by Monday, October 16. First payment is $50. If you wish to pay the full amount of $100 please do so by Monday too.
